Built in the 1970s, Wat Phra Yai is one of Pattaya’s most recognisable landmarks. A staircase flanked by mythical Naga serpents leads up to the golden seated Buddha, surrounded by smaller images for each day of the week.

It is a working temple and free to enter. Walk around to the back for some of the best views across the bay.
